Would you like to get a head start on your vegetable garden this year? There are many veggies you can start now indoors so they’ll be ready to go outside later in spring. Here are some of our kitchen garden favorites:
- Basil
- Broccoli
- Brussels Sprouts
- Cabbage
- Cauliflower
- Celery
- Eggplant
- Ground Cherries
- Kale
- Leeks
- Onions
- Parsley
- Peppers, such as Tomcat.
- Tomatoes, such as Cherry Bomb and Mountain Merit.
We don’t recommend starting beans, corn, cucumbers, peas, pumpkins and squash; it’s still too early.
Later this spring, sow these vegetable seeds directly outdoors:
- Beets
- Carrots
- Parsnips
- Turnip
What plants do you start indoors? We appreciate tips from our fellow gardeners.
Happy gardening, be it indoors or out.
