2002 David Garden Phlox
Botanical Name: Phlox paniculata ‘David’
Tall, late flowering garden phlox have always been a personal favourite of mine. They grow easily in full sun or partial shade, flowering from mid-summer to early fall. The hydrangea like flower has a sweet fragrance and it’s not uncommon to see butterflies and hummingbirds around the huge blooms. David is the purest of white garden phlox, growing 36 inches tall with a similar spread. Easily divided in early Spring, David also has a remarkable resistance to powdery mildew, which can be a curse to some of the older varieties.
