2011 Arkansas Blue Star
Botanical Name: Amsonia hubrichtii
This easy to grow North American native has clusters of sky blue flowers that bloom in late Spring. The finely textured foliage turns an amazing golden yellow for a stunning fall display. It is beautiful as a speciman or when planted in mass and pairs well with grasses, coneflowers or sages. Don’t let the southern state name deter you, Blue Star is hardy to Zone 4 and grows in average garden soi. Drought tolerant once established. Grows approximately 30 inches by 30 inches in Prince Edward Island.
