Boston ferns enjoy a warm area with indirect sunlight. It’s important not to place them in direct sunlight because this will cause the leaves to burn. Boston ferns also prefer higher humidity, especially in the colder months. A gentle misting once and awhile will give them the humidity they need. You can even water them in the shower if you see them wilting or losing their leaves.

Once the temperature is above freezing, and there is no warning of frost at night, Boston ferns can be placed outside. Some great areas to place them are on the front porch, in a patio pot, in the garden, or in a window box. Avoid placing them in direct sunlight or extremely windy areas.
