Growing Information
Special Broccoli for spring OR autumn sowing – Sow February-June & September-October. Harvest May-October & March-April.Sow thinly into a finely raked seedbed at a depth of 13mm (½”) and cover lightly with soil. Germination usually takes 7-10 days. Transfer seedlings when large enough to handle allowing 60cm (24″) between plants each way. Seeds can also be sown in a propagator in March and placed on a windowsill or in a greenhouse at approximately 10-16°C (50-60°F) to germinate and planted out 5-8 weeks later. Water well during spells of dry weather. Protect with netting to prevent cabbage butterfly attacks. Maturity 60-65 days after planting out.
