Prairie ‘Greater Quaking Grass’ Seeds, Suttons

Small “fishing rod’ like stems with pale green flowers topped in a copper top. The mirror-like ‘flowers’ reflect light when used in floral arrangements.

An excellent plant to add movement and interest to your garden.

This plant requires well-drained soil. It will self-seed freely to create a naturalized prairie look.

Growing Information

Best sown directly in April/May or August where they are to flower. Sow 6mm deep in rows 30cm apart into weed-free, moist, warm soil. Germination up to 21 days, but can be a little slower. Once germinated and seedlings are large enough to handle they can be thinned to 25cm spacing. Seedlings which have been thinned can be replanted. Alternatively, seeds can be started inside in February/March and planted out in May.
