White Vienna Kohlrabi Seeds, OSC

A rapidly growing heirloom from before 1860, White Vienna Kohlrabi is a reliable and early-producing member of the cabbage family. It produces a greenish-white enlarged stem with short tops and few leaves. Its white flesh has a delightful nutty flavour when eaten raw and a mild cabbage taste when cooked. Best harvested when the stem reaches 5-7.5 cm in diameter, this variety is slow to bolt and a very productive addition to your garden.

What you need to know to Plant & Grow

Sow seed directly outdoors anytime from late April to late July, 1 cm deep and 2.5 cm apart. Space rows 30-45 cm apart. Thin emerging seedlings to 10 cm apart in the row to give them plenty of space to develop. For best growth, irrigation is essential through dry periods. Sow seed every two weeks from April through to early August for a continuous harvest. Germination occurs in 7-10 days.
